Serves: It depends how greedy you are!

Time: 5 minutes

Asparagus is so good it can be cooked very simply and served with a knob of butter and a squeeze of lemon to let the flavour sing. It's quick too!


750g asparagus

knob of butter

lemon, cut into wedges

Sea salt + pepper to taste


Rinse the asparagus and trim the ends.

Put a pan of salted water on to boil, when boiling, turn down the heat and add the asparagus. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until you can easily prick the asparagus with a fork.

Drain and toss with the butter and a twist of salt and pepper.

Serve with the sea salt and lemon wedges.
